Details
Grandly dramatic, light as a feather, and beautifully translucent, the Non-Random Pendant (2007) by Bertjan Pot is a more neatly patterned version of his earlier Random Light. The collection began with Pot’s attempts to knit fiberglass to create a structure. When that failed, he coiled a strand of epoxy-dipped fiberglass around a large balloon in varying patterns. He then popped the balloon to reveal a dramatic globe-shaped form – which inspired this stunningly airy and yet mathematically precise pendant lamp. Bulb (not included): incandescent 60W/A19/E26. UL Listed. Made in the Netherlands.

Bertjan Pot
Designing furniture, lighting and other home products, Bertjan Pot emphasizes materials, which he sees as a critical but often overlooked element of the design process. Most of his projects are based in experimentation – starting small, playing with a material or technique, following a curiosity about how something might work, or might look.
