Details
The cocooning horseshoe form of the Oda Lounge Chair (1956) reveals exquisite detail. The masterfully integrated wood armrests and softly molded headrest and lumbar support were considered experimental in the 1950s, but remain hallmarks of designer Arnold Madsen’s approach. Although never formally trained, the Danish designer’s precision is evident in the chair’s seamless details, like the hand-sewn upholstery that covers Oda’s complex curves and backrest. By enfolding the sitter, Oda creates a sheltering space to curl up and read, rest, and relax. Pair it with the Oda Ottoman for extra comfort. Made in Poland.
