A French design classic, the artful lines and robust construction of Marcel Gascoin’s C Chair (1947) introduced a pragmatic elegance into the smaller homes of post-war France. Its beautiful natural textures of woven papercord or cane on the seat and back contrast with its tapered, solid wood legs. A designer with a social conscience, Gascoin played a vital role in rebuilding his country after World War II by creating simple, functional furniture that was nonetheless beautiful. The C Chair’s timeless silhouette remains a staple at dining tables to this day. Made in China.
