What is Modern Danish Design?
A part of modern Scandinavian design, Danish design builds on that foundation and adds details that set it apart. As with Scandinavian design, the defining features of Danish design are minimalism and practicality. Because of this, the craftsmanship found in Danish furniture is vitally important, with the intention being pieces that last for many years. And while the color palette still contains blues and browns that reflect the natural world, it also includes pastels, particularly pink and green. This adds quirky, unexpected elements to an otherwise sleek and simple design scheme.
Danish Lighting
As with other aspects of Danish design, Danish lighting is largely minimalist with eye-catching design features. These features can range from a quirky and charming form to a pastel-colored lampshade, making it possible to create a sleek, modern lighting scheme that’s also original and interesting.

Table Lamps + Floor Lamps
Danish table and floor lamps take sleek minimalism and add a playfulness to create unique lighting accents in your office and living spaces. Because of their functionality and versatility, sectionals are a staple in Scandinavian design. Danish sectionals typically come in neutral colors such as grey, cream, and black, but are also often designed in reds, blues, and greens. Colour Storage, on the other hand, is the ultimate in storage minimalism. Colour Storage is a simple rectangular storage box that comes in both bold and pastel colors. Sets of these boxes can be stacked on top of one another or stored like books on a shelf.

Dining Tables
One of the central gathering places in any home, a Danish dining table tends to fall on the simpler end of the spectrum of Danish tables. However, these pieces also often feature elements that set them apart. Both the Two Colour Table and the Pyramid Table 02 are classic, high-quality designs with colorways or sculptural legs that make them striking to look at. Café-style tables are similar, in that they often have smaller round tabletops, but pair that with a stunning nature-based color or angular, unusual legs. The Copenhague 20 Dining Table exemplifies this, with its pyramidal legs and eight color choices.
Coffee Tables
Because coffee tables tend to act as living room accent pieces, there is more freedom in Danish coffee table design. From simple silhouettes in vibrant colors to iconic shapes, Danish coffee tables come in a wide variety of forms.
